About Prestwood House Equestrian Centre
If we don’t yet provide what you ultimately want, let us know and we shall see what we can do to change to benefit everyone.
Our facilities consist of a selection of 12 x 12 and 16 x 12 stables, secure locked tack room, a heated horse shower, on yard toilet and a tea room (tea, coffee and the odd biscuit). We have a 30m x 60m arena and a set of show jumps and fillers, along with a set of grid fences. There is approximately 12 acres of grazing (post and rail and electric), hacking straight on to bridle paths and a small cross country course hopefully soon to come.
We are within hacking distance of various other equestrian yards for local competitions etc.
We are within a short drive of many large show grounds (ie: Felbridge approx. 20 minutes, Hickstead approx 30 minutes).
Staff Opportunites
Currently looking for someone to volunteer to work in return for training on their own horse/stable management lessons/share of one of our own horses/training towards BHS exams.
Eventually we would like to employ a member of staff. We would be looking for a hard worker who is willing to do yard and field work. You don’t have to have any exams, but if not we’d like you to have at least a basic knowledge of horse care. Training will be given during work, plus the possibility to go to other centres for training days, depending on what level you are at.
Kristy Mills (BHSAI Int. SM Int. T. / BHS Stage 3 Coach in Complete Horsemanship, Stage 4 Care and Management, Stage 4 Teach, UKCC Level 2)
Kristy caught the riding bug at the ripe old age of 18 months on a Gypsy Vanner doing pony rides on the local common, she then started lessons at 2 years at a local riding school, joined the Cambridge Hunt Branch of the Pony Club at 4 on riding school ponies and was given her first pony at 6. This started Kristy on the road to where she is today owning many horses and in possession of her BHS Ride and Road Safety, Child Protection, First Aid, Stage 2 Ride and Care, Stage 3 Ride and Care, PTT, AI, Stage 4 Care and Intermediate Teach and is on the BHS Register of Instructors.
Kristy loves her teaching and is happy to teach anyone of any age, from beginner to advanced. It has been her dream since she was still a young child to run her own yard, taking care of the owners and (more importantly) the horses and developing partnerships in whichever direction each individual wants to go.
